The 7 Oaks Fossicking Property is located 20kms from Inverell and has been producing sapphires since the 1960s. Located on the Frazer Creek, visitors are welcome to fossick at the facilities set up adjacent to the mining operation or you can go and fossick along the creeks and gullies. We provide all equipment and hands on instruction that is required to fossick. The fossicking and picnic areas are under large shady trees with parking right at the site. Bring your lunch or there are BBQs if you prefer a cooked lunch and enjoy the bush setting. The sapphire gravels are guaranteed virgin wash and definitely not pre-treated. You will be given a quick tour of our mining area. You can just turn up on the day or you can pre book by emailing or phoning us. Pre booking is suggested in the peak school holiday and public holiday times.
