We are located about 20 km from Inverell, on the Frazer Creek. A property of about 300 acres, we do allow visitors to camp on the place, or click here to view accommodation available throughout Inverell.

We maintain clean 'bush toilets. Wood fire BBQ's and picnic tables are at the fossicking area, and at one of the remote camping spots along the creek.The camp areas are in a true bush setting backing onto Frazer Creek.

Fossicking choices include a number of kilometres of natural creek banks or a stockpile of material is set up adjacent to the wash tubs.

Most people seem to enjoy the main stockpile, for easy work and good shady trees.

We supply all equipment or you can use your own. We give "hands on" demonstrations and are generally around the site doing our own mining work, so we can be of assistance most of the time.

We are basically a small privately run mining operation.

"7 Oaks Sapphires" offers it's small private mining area for visitors to experience the excitement of searching for that special personal gemstone.

The same excitement has been, and still is, experienced by all people involved in the age old quest for that ‘Lucky Strike'(be it for gold, sapphires or opal!)

The setting for visitors is on a picturesque site looking over a creek under large shade trees, adjacent to the actual mining plant.Also there are many different bird species that frequent our fossicking area.

We welcome groups of up to 30 down to 1 person.Larger groups should pre book.

A small mechanical pulsator machine is available for hire (for the serious fossicker), in addition to hand sieving equipment.

7 Oaks is open 7 days a week all year.You can either turn up on the day or pre-book.

During the school and public holidays we suggest pre booking to avoid disappointment.

Full personal introduction of HOW and WHERE to get sapphires is offered to all visitors, and the necessary equipment is available at the site. No previous experience is necessary.
